About Samuel Xu

My name is Samuel Xu and I’m a second year Behavioral Health Counseling Major. I am taking the premed track towards medical school to one day reach my goal in becoming a successful psychiatrist. Medical school is a long and difficult journey. A friend once asked me what’s the point in trying so hard in life, when it will all disappear one day? I told him to find a purpose. I believe that we can all interpret the meaning of life differently, but it comes down to how we can most effectively use our time to create something fantastic, something that can bring beautiful memories and experiences into our lives that are worth sharing. My volunteer experiences in different countries have helped me extend my cultural awareness and realize just how much there is to learn. It is my job to take the initiative to search for knowledge, new experiences, and a fighting spirit to chase after what I want.
