About Sandeep Sudhakaran

The world is witnessing a paradigm shift in the Automotive industry. The need for eco-friendliness and sustainable development has gained wide acceptance. This realization encouraged me to take a break from my career in 2019 and pursue a master's degree in Mobility Systems Engineering and Management from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. As of January 2022, I have completed the degree program with a major in E- Mobility and an additional major in ADAS. Soon after completing my Bachelor's degree in 2011, I started my professional career. My experience and industry knowledge come from 150+ customer projects for leading OEMs and Tier-1 customers. In the role of a senior design engineer, the work responsibility was wider than just CAD modeling and drawings. For instance, I had the responsibility of product manager to lead aftermarket development at MANN+HUMMEL India. After gap analysis and competitor analysis, I decided to introduce a set of products that increased the product coverage from 70% to 97% in 6 months. I enjoy unleashing the innovator in me. I invented an integrated Helmet filter for two-wheeler passengers. It was a solution to the daily challenge I faced as a motorcyclist on polluted Indian roads. I have co-authored 2 patents on this product. In the role of the innovation project manager, the market entry phase was the testing ground of my customer handling skills. I had to identify and convince potential customers (Helmet manufacturers) to integrate the filter on their products. The product was launched in the Indian market in 2018. My most recent work experience is from the master thesis. I developed a path planner application in MATLAB which considers optimization goals for customer-specific chassis development. Now I am exploring further into Machine learning and data science, which will be beneficial for my upcoming career roles. Besides that, I am a traveler and photography enthusiast. DIY home automation excites me. I would gladly spend a Saturday morning playing badminton.
