About Sander Goorman

During my study I was wondering which part of the job I would like the most: the technical or the aesthetic part. But to be honest after getting my degree and almost 10 years of working experience I am still not able to make a choice because I like them both. My working experiences at Neopost and Voortman opened up my eyes for technical issues and this made me very excited about technology. After this, during the assignment at Siemens, I was occupied with all bits and pieces of the development of gas turbines and compressors which made my technical skills grow fast. The job at Bosch is a technical increase for the development of "assembly-line products" where cost and technical feasibility are even more important issues. But at this job the aesthetic part is also very important because the appliance was considered to be groundbreaking from the design point-of-view. The conclusion so far is that I can not make a choice and that the combination of both parts of the job, which I dealt with during the assignment at Bosch, favors me best. At my position at Philips Lighting I had the chance to grow my helicopter-view over projects as a start in lead engineering. This way I could practice the things I learned at my Masterclass Projectmanagement. At my current position all the knowledge from my previous jobs comes together. I am part of te development team and my focuspoint is designing groundbreaking and innovative new systems or products.
