By being innovative with cloud technologies and automation I provide a cost efficient, easy to manage and reliable platform for DevOps teams to use. I believe the best way to practice DevOps is to enable teams to use complex infrastructure as easily as possible and make them understand enough of it to know when to use it. The platform should provide useful feedback and abstract away as much as possible of which is not core business for the team. Kubernetes is my platform of choice as it is available on every cloud, on prem and is widely adopted. It provides developers a single api they have to learn and gives the possibility to switch cloud vendors more easily. Where I can, I use building blocks that are available. If they're not available I create them myself. I enjoy working together with people of mixed backgrounds (ops, dev, architecture and everything in between). I'm used to work in a self-steering fashion. I did so when I started at Van-Arkel and still do today.
