About Sandhya Karmani

To me, any problem is a design opportunity - and the solution to a problem lies in understanding the core of the problem. I, innately possess the quality of empathizing with the users which drives my design decisions. Design to me is the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics to convey the message or to get the task done in the simplest possible way. Through my designs, I strive to craft an experience that not only engages but also transcends beyond the medium the end-user uses. I bring a fresh perspective on the table with all my diverse experiences and creative problem-solving skills. Having worked with some of the esteemed Products-based organizations for over 4 years, I have become adept in designing high-value products nurtured with my analytical bent of mind, user-centric approach, and working in congruence with the business goals. My key responsibilities, in the past, have included building digital products from scratch, following the best practices of the UX process and delivering end to end UI solutions in an agile environment. Personal Bio: “I am neither especially clever nor especially gifted. I am only very, very curious.” This quote by Albert Einstein truly defines me as a person. I have the "itch" to explore new things be it music, crafts, food, or places to know the culture and its people. I love things that alter my perception and challenge my thinking. I consider travel as my best teacher as it exposes me to the realities of life. Some of my journeys have taken me on cycling trips to the highest motorable road in the world (done solo in Ladakh, Sep 2017) to traveling without a single penny and phone (for about a month in the remotest parts of Odisha, end of 2018). I cherish living in harmony with nature. In late 2018, I took some time out from my corporate career to get hands-on experience on the things that I desired to learn: Ayurveda, Yoga and Farming. Last year, I enrolled myself in a 7-month long residential volunteering program aimed at learning and integrating yogic practices in everyday life in lieu of offering one’s professional skills. Self-awareness is the strongest armour which I have acquired through the practice of Yoga and Meditation. My hunger to learn is insatiable and it's only growing with time.
