Background

About Sandra Akuta

I am a dedicated and qualified educator with a strong track record of creating safe, engaging, and inclusive learning spaces that foster children’s social, emotional, and intellectual growth. With Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Masters in Education from the University of Greenwich, I bring both academic expertise and hands-on experience across Early Years, Primary, and Special Educational Needs settings. My teaching philosophy is rooted in empathy, structure, and high expectations, empowering every child to thrive regardless of their starting point. From supporting children with SEMH needs to delivering curriculum-based, play-centred learning, I excel in designing individualised learning plans, implementing trauma-informed strategies, and working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure every learner’s success. I believe in an education that extends beyond academics, helping children build confidence, empathy, and lifelong skills. My approach blends professional expertise with warmth, patience, and adaptability, ensuring that every child feels seen, valued, safe, and capable.
