About Sandra Beasley

Sandra Beasley is the award-winning author of five books. Her prose has been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and other magazines. Her poetry has been widely anthologized, including as Best American Poetry, and honors for her work include a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and six individual artist grants from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Beasley is an acclaimed teacher who has traveled for writer-in-residence positions across the U.S. and in Ireland. She currently serves on faculty for the low-residency MFA program in creative writing at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Her poetry and nonfiction workshops for institutions such as The Writer's Center and Politics and Prose Bookstore regularly sell out. Since April 2024, Sandra Beasley has been the Director of Communications for FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the mission to improve the quality of life and health of those with food allergies through transformative research, education, and advocacy.
