I was fortunate to have the opportunity to develop these talents and skills through the confluence of several factors: my experience as a psychiatric nurse, the attainment of my MBA degree, and being hired by Advocate Health, Illinois’ largest hospital system. Recognizing my ability to excel in both quality of care and efficiency in running the business, the Physician Chairman of Medicine created a new position for me: Executive Director, Department of Medicine. Mentoring Physician Chiefs in 14 divisions and their 450+ staff physicians in critical business skills their medical training lacked, I transformed the department into a highly efficient, profitable enterprise, while delivering exceptional patient care. Following 12 prosperous years at Advocate Health, in 1997 I founded Executive Solutions, becoming Chicago’s premier business coach, attracting elite financial clients like UBS, Deutsche Bank and Great Lakes Capital, as well as prominent physicians, attorneys and corporate executives. For two decades as a executive, business, career and recovery coach, I elevated the trajectories of countless lives, careers, companies, and the teams that run them. I was sourced by The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, Chicago Tribune, and others, and became a Project Management Instructor at the University of Chicago. My intuition is my Super Power—the ability to ease myself into a volatile or high stakes situation, quickly determine where the unrest is rooted, and bring the crisis to a successful resolution. My deftness in communicating painful feedback to clients in a way that isn’t damaging to their self-esteem is another of my key strengths.
