About Sandra Bohne

I am a natural fibres and textiles specialist with 10 years of international experience in material innovation, supply chain development, certification and circularity with a focus on natural fibres in the textiles sectors. Experienced in developing ESG frameworks, developing pilot projects, coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives and producing technical and policy-oriented publications for organisations such as FAO and CIFOR-ICRAF. Enthusiastic about combining technical, market-related and policy perspectives to drive innovation, market acceptance and trade in natural fibres and other biomaterials for a circular and bioeconomy through international cooperation and capacity building. I co-founded the Fibral Material Alliance, a global multistakeholder network uniting the plant fibre industry of non-cotton fibres, e.g. jute, abaca, hemp, pineapple etc. with the aim to strengthen international collaboration, knowledge exchange, trade, market adoption and their contribution to the SDGs.
