Background
About Sandra Carlock
Sandra Carlock received her Bach. of Mus. degree from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and did graduate work at the Juilliard School of Music, completing her Master of Music degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She has studied with Rosina Lhevinne, Arthur Dann and Martin Canin. Sandra was a prizewinner in the first international Emma Feldman Memorial Competition, and was selected, by competitive audition, to be one of only five pianists represented by the National Music League, NYC, under whose management she performed throughout the United States. Sandra spent her childhood years in McAlester, OK. She began her piano study at the age of 3 with her Mother, a professional musician. For many years, she has resided in the Philadelphia, PA area, and she is well known throughout the United States and Europe as a recitalist and master teacher. Sandra has frequently been heard on radio and TV broadcasts in the USA and abroad. She has been interviewed on Classic FM radio in London, England, on WRTI’s Crossover in Philadelphia, and on WQXR, the radio station of the New York Times in NYC, and her recordings and live performances have also been heard on these stations. In addition, during the past 15 years Sandra has pursued her love of photography, specializing in landscape photography. An overview of her work can be seen at http://sandra-carlock.artistwebsites.com/ Otherwise: Sandra's first CD - a live recording of a concert she presented at St. John's Smith Square, one of London's major concert halls - was produced by Klarity Records here in the USA. Her most recent recording of the music of American composer, Edward MacDowell, was released by SOMM records in England to great critical acclaim - including superlative reviews in Gramophone, and all major international music journals. Sandra's bio can be seen in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World. Headshots: Todd Trice
