About Sandra Cheung

I am privileged to be a member of the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Decision Support Team in Addiction and Mental Health, Calgary Zone. I have worked closely with a number of mental health professionals including psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses and psychiatrists, regarding the development, implementation and evaluation of programming related to infant, child and adolescent addictions and mental health services and treatments. Specifically, the last three years I have grown vast amount of experience and knowledge regarding the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma, toxic stress, resilience and the impact of the health care system to ACEs. I am also fortunate to have collaborated with young people, caregivers and families affected by mental health challenges and am committed to create feasible solutions for our patients and mental health services, working towards an integrated family centered care. I am committed to building my knowledge-base and skills by engaging in numerous mental health and counselling relevant training and conferences.
