About Sandra Derham

After a career within the children and young peoples workforce spanning across 36 years, I have recently semi-retired from a full time post as higher education partnerships co-ordinator at Halesowen College, West Midlands to pursue other avenues within education. At Halesowen College, I co-ordinated the delivery and quality management of all courses delivered in partnership with University of Worcester including Foundation Degrees in Early Years, Learning Support and Health and Social care as well as The Diploma in Education and Training (initial teacher training for FE Lecturers). I also taught across these programmes. It was important for me to maintain my working relatonship with University of Worcester so I have continued to teach on the Foundation Degree in early years (0-8) as an associate lecturer. In addition to this, I work via an agency for Birmingham City Council Special Educational Needs and Disiability Assessment and Review Team as a SEND advisor to parents, schools and professionals. I am open to explore other employment opportunities within the areas of quality assurance in education, management and leadership, higher education teaching and advisory work within early years education and care and/or special educational needs and disability.
