I have caught the coding bug! From my very first Programming lecture in TUD I was hooked. I was thinking to myself, what is this new interesting world and I can't wait to find out about it and learn the languages. The doors were opened to endless introductions to new and exciting times- websites (HTML, CSS and Javascript)- Java (OOP, Java Applets, Android Development)- Python (RESTful Services, GraphQL)- Computer Vision - MySQL - Data Mining and Text Analysis - Computer Intelligence (Fuzzy Logic, Neural Networks) I really enjoyed applying what I had learned during my time in TUD to my 4th year project, combining my new love of technology with my existing love of soccer. I developed an Android Mobile application that provides a management tool for volunteer managers and coaches of youth soccer team with the ability to record training attendance, match attendance and in-game playing time. The information is recorded and visualised back to the user through visual chart aids. The application was built using Android Studio using Java Programming language and was supported by Firestore database. It was very satisfying building this application as I knew that I could use it in my role as a youth coach as the application would help with player development. To my absolute delight the application won Best Final Year Project kindly sponsored by Fidelity Investments and joint Overall Best Project kindly sponsored by Ocuco Limited. This is not the end for this application. I plan to continue developing it to the best of my ability and adapting it as necessary to the needs of my role as a coach and also to benefit player and team development. I spent several years working in an insurance company. I gained invaluable experience as a result of working for such a big organisation. I have to know and manage various commercial products, being part of a team and working with customers - brokers or direct customers. I also assisted on the business side in a number of projects including the testing phase for the introduction of new systems. In my spare time, sports is my passion - mostly any kind of active sport! I play soccer for my local club and I am part of a management/coaching team for youth girls team within the club.
