About Sandra Evans

My passion lies in health and wellness. During my university career I was accepted into three practicums. One was with Active Living at the U of C. This practicum placement had me act as an exercise professional after job shadowing all exercise professionals employed with Active Living. I was responsible for running the Active Living booth at three different Health Day fairs. I took part in assessing musculoskeletal fitness levels of provincial volleyball teams as well as various general and special population clients. Another practicum placement I was accepted into was with the Rehab and Fitness Center, another entity within the U of C. Here I was responsible for assessing fitness levels in individuals with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a recovering stroke patient, and a tetraplegic male. I was then required to tailor a work out program for each and then act as their personal trainer. The third practicum I was involved in had me act as a research assistant for a fiber study that was being conducted at the U of C. All supervisors for my practicums offered me a position after I had completed my time with them. I take extreme pride in all work I do and love making a positive difference in people’s lives.
