About Sandra Gehring

An accomplished, experienced Emmy Award-winning communication/media veteran with a deep comprehension of learning styles applicable in multiple higher education environments. I have been working as a full-time Visiting Lecturer/Adjunct Professor in the Communications Department of Flagler College since the fall of 2017 having completed my M.A. in Communications in the fall of 2017 as well. I was thrilled to accept the full-time faculty position of Flagler College's Visiting Lecturer in Communications, starting in the fall of 2018. At the same time, I also teach at least one course online each term, for Southern New Hampshire University. In addition to a passion for student success and engagement, I have experience and a high level of comfort with a variety of higher ed LMS programs including Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard and Bongo. Working as a professor in media and communications is fulfilling a life-long dream to engage students in this interesting, important field and to create high levels of understanding that can be converted to successful collegiate and professional communication skills. Business associates describe me as creative, focused, intelligent, communicative & strategic. Combined with my extensive communication experience I plan to continue working in media, media research and communication while working as a professor teaching same. Previously I have trained business people and entrepreneurs to effectively generate their own publicity or press coverage.
