My paternal grandfather was an immigrant as well, having emigrated from Spain to Cuba at the age of 16. I was the child who befriended every newcomer, whether they came from a new country or a new school. Harnessing the drive and tenacity of a first-generation American, I became the first lawyer in my family over 30 years ago. Today, I continue to welcome the newcomer, except now I am a U.S. Immigration Attorney with over 25 years of experience.
