About Sandra Onyemaechi

With over three years of professional experience, my core competencies lie in the design and development of novel cancer therapies. As a dedicated Graduate Research Assistant at Keck Medicine of USC, I am deeply committed to advancing the field of cancer biology and genomics. My mission is to leverage cutting-edge bi-specific CAR-T cell therapies to combat hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, bringing a diverse perspective to our team's efforts to improve patient outcomes. In my current role, I have successfully engineered bi-specific CAR-T cells targeting AML, gastric and prostate cancers demonstrating their enhanced therapeutic potential through rigorous in vitro and in vivo assays. Previously, as a Clinical Research Coordinator, I played a key role in managing critical aspects of NIH-funded research studies, including bio-specimen processing and participant recruitment—skills that continue to inform my approach to clinical diagnostics and laboratory testing in cancer research.
