About Sandra Pabon

In June of I left Colombia to move to the United States in search of a better future. I had no specific goal or career in mind, my only objective was to learn English, find a career I would enjoy and work hard to create a future for myself. In February of my cousin got me a job at Itasca Construction making photocopies. I am grateful for this opportunity because they gave me the job even though I did not speak English. After working there for a week, they asked my cousin if I could keep working for them and help the administrative staff. My new responsibilities were to open the mail, help with the filing, distribute faxes, etc. Around 2004, I started working for one of the Project Managers, running permits, filing, and helping him with different tasks. After working for him for a couple of years, I decided to get my degree in Construction Management at Everglades University. I graduated in 2010 and I was promoted to Project Manager in 2013. As project manager, I managed numerous projects from office buildings, Industrial facilities, hospitality facilities and interior buildouts. In 2020, I became a Vice President and Owner of Itasca Construction. In my new role I am responsible for maintaining and establishing new client relations and oversee the construction of our current projects to ensure a successful completion and delivery.
