About Sandra Rosier

While most tax professionals typically operate within one jurisdiction, focusing on one sector and one part of a specific tax act, I have had the unique opportunity to serve as the tax lead on thousands of transactions in Canada, the US, Latin America, Europe and pan-Asia, across multiple asset classes. I gained most of this experience when I was a senior tax leader for the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (“CPP Investments”) and the global head of tax at BentallGreenOak (BGO). Combined with my previous career experience practicing law, I am adept at assessing and addressing the strategic and operational tax challenges that investment businesses face today. I launched Rosier Tax Advisory to help large institutional investors and asset managers navigate the complex landscape of global investments in private equity, real estate and capital markets. Rosier Tax Advisory fills the gap between the multifaceted tax needs of organizations and the standard tax services offered in the market. This guidance is based on my real-world experience, which includes: • Establishing the BGO tax function by recruiting and training an outstanding team of global tax professionals. • Building the CPP Investments capital markets tax function from the ground up and benchmarking the public equities portfolio – resulting in millions in tax savings, custodian service improvements and identification of missed opportunities for lower dividend withholding tax and accelerated tax refunds.
