Specialties: Certified in FBT Therapy Eating Disorders Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Diorders Sandra received her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Maryland, and Washington DC. Sandra offers evidence-based treatments for adults, adolescents, and children to promote physical, mental, and social well-being. Sandra was born in Switzerland and has worked in different clinical settings in the U.S, Europe, and in South East Asia. She has experience in providing individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy. She completed the DBT Foundational Training at the Behavioral Tech. In addition, Sandra has extensive training in other evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for complex PTSD (cPTSD DBT), DBT-PE, Family Based Treatment (FBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy.(SFBT), and psychodynamic techniques. These interventions are effective for a range of problems such as mood disorders, eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, and substance use issues. Sandra has clinical expertise in eating disorders in all levels of care treating children, adolescents, adults for all types of eating disorders. She is certified in Family Based Treatment or Maudsley Method from the Training Institute of Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder. As a research assistant at the National Institute of Health (NIH), she investigated malnutrition and cognitive development in infants and children. Previously, Sandra received a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Zürich, Switzerland and her research and publication focused on molecular genetics of human growth factors. At the Birkbeck College, University of London, U.K. she completed a postgraduate diploma in psychodynamics of human development. Sandra was recognized as an outstanding employee at Sheppard Pratt Hospital for her dedication and compassionate style of patient care.
