About Sandra Ruddock

I have an M.A.(Hons.), Dip.Ed, Dip.Tchg. My background is in education. I have worked as a secondary teacher in History, Social Science, English and Journalism. I have had middle and senior management experience in secondary schools as a Year 13 Dean, House Dean, Head of Department, Head of Faculty and Assistant/Deputy Principal. I was the Auckland Manager and National Director for a Year 10-11 business planning program at Enterprise New Zealand Trust, an educational non-profit organisation. I have experience in marketing/public relations in secondary schools as an International Director for eight years; as a Communication and Events Manager and as a Director of Development. I have worked in tertiary institutions, namely the University of Auckland, Unitec, CQ University in Mackay, Hunter TAFE in Newcastle and the University of Queensland, working in a range of project management and liaison roles. While establishing the Volunteer Hub at the Regional Social Development Centre in Mackay I gained an interest in community development projects. Pairing this with my interest in photography, in 2011 I volunteered to photograph event and marketing images for community organisations in Mackay and continued this in the Hunter Valley and Brisbane.
