Background

About Sandra Samara

Chemical Engineering graduate from Institut Teknologi Bandung and MBA–MSc candidate in the ASEAN Master in Sustainability Management, a dual degree programme between Universitas Gadjah Mada and the University of Agder, Norway. My experience spans industrial processes, energy systems analysis, carbon accounting, and regional energy policy. I have worked across manufacturing process engineering, upstream energy project evaluation, greenhouse gas accounting, and regional energy transition analysis. Currently, I am an Energy Modeling and Policy Planning Intern at the ASEAN Centre for Energy, supporting energy systems modelling and policy-relevant analysis for ASEAN energy transition pathways. I am particularly interested in the intersection of energy systems, sustainability, and policy, and in how analytical tools, modelling, and strategy can support practical and credible transition pathways for industries, governments, and regional institutions. I am driven by the challenge of translating sustainability ambitions into actionable strategies, balancing technical feasibility, economic realities, and policy considerations to deliver meaningful transition outcomes.
