About Sandro Ortiz

As a dedicated, passionate, and motivated coach with more than 12 years of experience, developing player skills and coaching male and female teams between the ages of 6 and 18 and professional players. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Universidad Centroamericana. I played professionally in Nicaragua for 10 years, and I am a former goalkeeper of my country’s national team under the u21-u23 category. I began my coaching career in 2007 at a Private School in Nicaragua called St. Augustine Preparatory School. For this school I developed a competitive soccer program, which led this school to obtain the first place among private schools. Afterwards I coached the American Nicaraguan School (ANS) team, which acquired the National Champions title four times, and led them three times in the International Tournament AASCA. I later moved on to perform as a goalkeeper coach in male first division clubs like Walter Ferretti, assisting them to becoming national champions and my goalkeeper was recognized as best goalkeeper in the country twice, qualifying to the CONCACAF LEAGUE in 2017. The last club I worked for was Juventus FC, acting as a goalkeeper coach and developing physical conditioning for the main team. With this team, we qualified to the semifinals in the tournament in Nicaragua. Some of the skills I have acquired over the years are creating schedules, developing practice exercises and games, accompanied by the importance of cultivating values and developing a healthy team atmosphere. I maintain an unwavering focus on improving player skills and techniques, while always ensuring a safe and supportive environment, to encourage socialization and team cohesion. I have been working with Kaptiva Sports running summer camps in US, in the years 2010, 2015,2016 and 2017 as a team coach, goalkeeper coach, and General Camp Coordinator respectively. As part of my professional development I have accomplished several online courses on topic such as, goalkeeper physiology, physical conditioning, among others in Valencia FC from Spain. During the year 2021, while living in the US, I worked as head coach for the girls Varsity Soccer team at Pace High School. At the same time I was developing the goalkeeper program for FC Barcelona Pro Academy in Miami, and I was the head coach of their u10 category. And I was the Physical conditioning coach for the division 3 team Palm Beach Stars, with whom we won the UPSL league championship. All of these achievements in this same year.
