About Sandy Belanger

After many years in the field of office administration, I have developed into a knowledgeable professional and am very satisfied to be where I am today. I have acted as support for administrative teams, executives and a board of directors with great success. I attribute that success to the fact that I enjoy being of assistance to others and have a strong acumen for organizing and planning. I have always enjoyed positive working relationships and I am able to say that I have been actively recruited into each of the positions I have held in the past 16 years. Historically I have touched on many different aspects of the organizations that I have been a part of; reporting, strategic planning, budgetary allocations, event and travel planning, to mention a few. At both the Siksika Medicine Lodge and The Great West Life Disability Management Office my responsibilities included interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Referring to my back ground in Human Resources, I have been called on to interpret policy and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations. I believe my role as an administrator is to ensure the executive(s) or group that I support are represented well and are free to focus on managing the organization, without day to day distractions. I aim to smooth the day as much as possible. I am able to adapt to an ever changing environment and can focus my attention in several directions at once, as is so often required. Accustomed to a high volume workflow, I think it’s important to plan ahead yet remain flexible. Creative with a positive outlook, I find that common sense and resourcefulness guide me in handling those tricky situations that tend to arise. There are days when everything seems to go wrong, I am able to stay calm during those times and keep smiling, there are always solutions.
