As a dedicated medical laboratory assistant, my journey into healthcare represents a significant shift from my initial background in criminology. While the fields may seem disparate, I believe my unique perspective and skill set are assets that contribute to my passion for making a meaningful impact in healthcare. My studies in criminology equipped me with strong analytical and research skills, which I’ve found to be invaluable in healthcare, where attention to detail and methodical approaches are paramount. Additionally, my commitment to justice and improving society has seamlessly translated into a desire to enhance patient care and well-being. During my academic pursuits, I have excelled in both criminology and healthcare coursework, earning a place on the Dean’s Honour Roll and receiving a scholarship for academic excellence. My transition to healthcare was reinforced by a transformative month-long practicum experience at Vancouver General Hospital, where I witnessed the profound impact that healthcare professionals have on individuals’ lives. I’m actively seeking opportunities to further develop my expertise and contribute to a healthcare team dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
