About Sandy Terblanche

Having grown up in Cape Town, I attended Stellenbosch University where I obtained a BComm LLB degree completing my studies in 2006. I was then privileged enough to be offered a position as a candidate attorney at DSC Attorneys in Cape Town under the guidance of Ms Kirstie Haslam, after 1.5 years of articles I was offered a position managing my own practice/portfolio (under the guidance of Ms Haslam) and completed my final 6 months of articles managing my own practice. I stayed on at DSC until March 2011 when my husband & I decided that Joburg would provide greater opportunities for both of us, we moved to Joburg where I was once again lucky enough to be offered the position as Assistant Legal Advisor at SHA (Stalker Hutchison Admiral - a specialist underwritng company and 100% subsidiary of Santam), after approximately 2 years I was promoted to (fully fledged) Legal Advisor and am currently holding the position of Head: Legal & Compliance. I thoroughly enjoy working at SHA and consider myself privileged to be working on some of the most complex legal problems that an attorney can hope to work on, learning new things every day & expanding my knowledge of the law beyond pure insurance law principles. I hope to continue my career development with SHA and perhaps eventually to become more involved in Santam's own legal department.
