About Sandy Walker

I was fully living my dream, using my BA in English and Psychology and advanced degree in Humanities to create safe and inclusive classrooms where young minds could grow and reach their potential. And then it happened. My supervisor encouraged me to apply for the inaugural position of Equity Supervisor for my organization. I wondered who had the stamina and vision to take every staff member, leader, and stakeholder through a transformative process that would challenge every policy, procedure, and practice for the creation of a culturally responsive, equitable, and inclusive system. It turned out to be me. Now, seven years later, living my dream continues. I have grown into an innovative leader who uses an equity lens to foster cultural and operational change across organizations. I specialize in facilitating DEI audits, establishing and monitoring metrics for growth and accountability, designing tools to operationalize DEI, and developing insight through data analysis. I am genuinely passionate about DEI and am always eager to connect with others working to create culturally responsive spaces.
