About Sania Dogra
After graduating as an architect I decided to change my professional line and enter the development sector, which led me to pursuing my Master’s in International Peace Studies from Soka University of Japan. My MA thesis focused on deconstructing the Politics of Menstruation in India in which I suggested using elements of Soka Education as a means to overcome the social construction around menstruation. I presented my research at various International Conferences. Contrary to society’s notion I view my professional change of line as an asset as I love to explore the interconnectedness of design and social issues. I strongly believe that bad or inconsiderate design can lead to structural violence which can perpetuate direct violence. I find solace in nature and long walks. As I love to travel and explore the less travelled path in life. Socialising and interacting with people from different backgrounds gives me joy and helps me grow as a person.
