About Sanjay Mathapersadh

My 26 years at Sappi has given me the knowledge and experience to function at the highest level in a Manufacturing accounting environment. My advantage is having worked from a junior level into Senior Management, thus allowing me to implement controls and procedures to ensure the highest levels of efficiencies from a team. I have gained extensive knowledge on ERP systems, especially SAP, and work at an advanced level on MS Office package. I have coached and mentored individuals in order for them to achieve personal success. Many of my understudies have moved into senior positions, both within and outside the company. I have a positive approach to problem solving and adopt an "I can do" approach. I embrace company policies and rules and ensure compliance by all my reports. The purpose of my role is to maintain and improve the financial controls to safeguard the assets of the company, ensure proper day to day management of the Accounting, Administration, Warehouse, Security and IT departments, ensure compliance to accounting standards, advise senior management on opportunities for profitability improvement and oversee the management accounting function. I fully control the budget process of the mill and the presentation of the results to Mill Management and to Head Office.
