About Sanjay Miranda

I specialise exclusively in the assessment and treatment of hand, upper limb & peripheral nerve conditions. My practice is in the northeast of the UK centred around Teesside. My practices are in Middlesbrough, Northallerton, Darlington & Stockton-on-Tees. I receive regular tertiary referrals from other Consultant colleagues regarding hand & upper extremity conditions. Excellent Hand Surgeons during my training in the West Midlands, Nottingham, Derby and Sydney have strongly influenced my practice. These lasting influences have steered me towards the repair & reconstruction of the hand & upper extremity that has been damaged by trauma, nerve injury, chronic neurological conditions, arthritis, infection and contractures. Patients treated by me are supported by a talented group of colleagues, in particular, Hand Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Radiologists, Neurophysiologists, Rheumatologists and Rehabilitation Specialists. I enjoy teaching and training and am fortunate to be in an environment that gives me ample opportunity to do so. The foundation of advancing healthcare is built on research and audit, and I actively engage & lead clinical research & audit. I currently participate in national & international research studies.
