About Sanjeev Ek

Having worked in the HealthCare BPO industry for over 20 years now which includes a stint in Australia, I have built up significant experience in running operations with an ability to manage work with different cultures and work practices. For the last 20 years, I have worked in technology-based service companies in the IT-enabled environment with Spheris Inc. Initially, with a transcription background, my career started as a medical language specialist at Spheris. I progressively moved to take on senior management positions in operations, Quality and HR functions. I have been heavily involved in the implementation of systems and processes in all these areas. In 2006, I moved into a senior management position that involved handling clients across the US, Europe and Australia. This stint also involved the acquisition of a unit in the Philippines and successfully merging it with the parent organization. I managed a team of 160 plus MTs (including a team of 60 in the Philippines) that serviced our diverse clients. In 2012, I was part of a 3-member team that piloted Medical Scribing in South India and proved that real-time scribing can be done in India. We designed and implemented from scratch systems and processes including but not limited to Medical Scribing training, HR and compliance systems, processes and SOPs related to Scribe OPs, and MIS and logistics (given this is a night shift only process). While my focus was HR and Training functions in the first 3 years from 2014 to 2017, I moved into Scribe Operations in 2017 to manage our largest client and grow the business to 140 providers and 170 plus scribes which I currently manage.
