About Sanket Kumar
I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at KU Leuven, Belgium, working with Dr. Erin Koos and Dr. Deniz Gunes. My research focuses on the destabilization mechanisms in Pickering emulsions—exploring how particle-laden interfaces influence emulsion stability. Previously, I earned my Ph.D. in Soft Matter Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, where I worked with Dr. Dillip K. Satapathy and Dr. Madivala G. Basavaraj. My doctoral research explored evaporation-induced defect formation in colloidal films, particularly the origin and control of desiccation cracks and delamination patterns. My broader research interests include colloidal self-assembly, film instability, emulsion stabilization, and interfacial science. I bring hands-on experience in colloidal synthesis, image and video analysis, optical microscopy, droplet shape analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and dynamic light scattering (DLS). Driven by a passion for applying soft matter physics to real-world challenges, I’m open to collaborative and industrial R&D opportunities in colloid and interface science, emulsions, and advanced materials.
