About Sapreen Abbass

Experienced engineering professional with a Bachelor’s Degree focused in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. I specialize in project management in transit related projects ranging from ITS, asset management, traffic engineering, and now facilities planning, design, and construction. My job experience started in higher education performing materials testing in a laboratory setting. That same year I was able to complete a senior design project which allowed me to gain hands on experience in managing a project, design, and fabrication. During this time I was able to expand my knowledge on 3D printing, laser cutting, wire EDMs, and even learned how to sew different materials. This project fueled my interest in project management and consulting. After graduation, I was able to secure a full time position as a Systems Engineer working at an ITS consulting firm. During my time with the firm, I learned a plethora about engineering documentation, such as how to draft ConOps, RFIs, and even proposals. As a technical consultant, I was also able to help the client trouble shoot and program several of their ITS devices, such as Variable Message Signs and their travel management system. Then in 2018, I worked as a Submittal Manager within the project controls group for the Green Line Extension project in Boston. This was a multi-million dollar project, which allowed me to learn about scheduling and design submittals. Subsequently, I worked as a Vehicle/Mechanical Engineer where I was able to help manage several transit projects in the Greater Boston area. After receiving my PMP I transitioned to working as a Sr project manager handling projects of all sizes and industries.
