About Sara Babb

Sara Elliott Babb is a graduate of George Mason University's School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, Master's Program. She holds a BA in International Studies from Rhodes College. For most of 2007 - present, she has worked for Refugee Empowerment Program, an ethnic-community based organization based in Memphis, TN. She has served as Education Specialist, Program Coordinator, Consultant, and now as Associate Director. Sara worked as a lead instructor with the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia from 2017 - 2020. She helped to establish a successful pilot program focused on workforce readiness and survival English skills for pre- and low-literate adult learners, predominantly from refugee backgrounds. Sara was a consultant with FHI 360 between 2014 - 2016. Her work primarily focused on research and writing in the field of youth workforce development and social and emotional learning development and programming. From 2012 to 2014, Sara served in Peace Corps as a Community and Organizational Development Facilitator in Durrës, Albania. She worked for the Civil Society Development Center where she focused on capacity building, grant-writing, and youth leadership. Sara managed a pilot partnership between Peace Corps Albania and the Albanian-American Development Foundation to promote youth leadership through a variety of programs and initiatives. Sara also served on several committees focused on anti-trafficking in persons, youth development, small grant management, and monitoring, reporting and evaluation during her time in Albania. Sara loves to travel and has lived, studied, worked, or spent time in over 40 countries.
