About Sara Buchanan

I am a highly versatile and creative third-sector professional with 25 years’ experience in the voluntary and community sector. I have a strong track record of leading innovative, multi-partner initiatives to achieve change in the field of asylum and migration, free expression, disability rights, LGBT rights and community development. I have held senior programme and grants management roles in international NGOs, private and publicly funded foundations, national charities and social enterprises. I am passionate about collaborative leadership and fostering inclusive working environments in which individuals can learn and thrive. My particular skills include forging effective stakeholder partnerships built on trust and shared values; creating accessible and impactful funding programmes; and providing business development support in the social economy. I am an accredited social enterprise practitioner and hold an ICF accredited diploma in transformative coaching.
