About Sara Carbery

Having worked with words in a variety of roles and platforms for more than 25 years, I am able to communicate about anything and anyone - from community gardens in west Auckland (North & South), and the last of NZ's captive dolphins (New Zealand Geographic), through assisted dying (Health Central), and activist parents (Little Treasures), to living generously (NEXT), walking the Milford Track (AA Directions), and animal testing in New Zealand (Animals’ Voice). As well as print journalism, I worked for many years in television as a researcher and scriptwriter, and in public relations, marketing and communications roles. I have also edited health publications and two books and worked on one-off projects for corporates, government departments and charities. I am available for freelance and contract work. Skills and attributes I bring to my work include the ability to work autonomously to a tight deadline and brief, an engaging writing style, proven editing skills, experience writing for social media and digital platforms and good interpersonal and research skills.
