Sara Chamberlain is a television writer, producer and director.For Netflix, Sara was Executive Producer of Buying Beverly Hills and Co-Executive Producer of Selling Sunset, both in their first seasons. In the high-end real estate genre, Sara strives to tell genuine and compelling storylines amid extravagant and beautifully-shot backdrops. Executive Producer/Showrunner of the hit docu-series "Doubling Down with the Derricos"(seasons 1-2) on TLC, Sara introduced the world to an especially lovable family. During the pandemic, she produced a record-breaking, fully remote episode where the household of 18 becomes exposed to Covid-19. Additionally for TLC, Sara was Executive Producer/Showrunner of the popular series “I am Jazz” in its 8th season as well as the eccentric favorite "Hot & Heavy"(pilot and season 1). She also Co-Executive Produced the long-running hit series "My Big Fat Fabulous Life"(season 1-5).Attracted to storytelling from a young age, Sara wrote her first play at 9 years old and made her first film at 11. Falling in love with the documentary genre in the film program at San Francisco State University, she began sharpening her documentary filmmaking skills and never looked back. Sara cut her teeth in the entertainment industry working for Jennifer Lopez, spearheading the A-lister’s Nuyorican Productions office on its inception.With over 20 years working specifically in non-fiction television, Sara has produced hundreds of hours of programming for networks including CBS, Lifetime, OWN, CMT, ABC Family, GSN, TruTV, TV Land, Showtime, Travel Channel and Netflix. From network specials like CBS’s "A Home for the Holidays" to Emmy-nominated series like Showtime’s "Penn & Teller: Bullshit," Sara’s experience spans most non-fictional genres, including home makeover, competition and game show.Sara is best known for her comedy chops as well as bringing authenticity and heart to her shows. She is represented by UTA and is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
