About Sara Conneely

With education at the forefront my career, I am currently continuing mine through the Catholic Theological Union Doctor of Ministry Program. However, as a minister, I find that successful organizations are driven by their mission and charism. These organization align all that they do to their mission statement, ensuring all of their programs, publications, and posts integrate their essential goals and express their identity in a positive, comprehensive way. My goal is to work with mission driven organizations on integrating their identities into everything they do. After studying theology, peace studies, and Italian language, culture, and literature as a undergraduate student, I knew my passion for making the world a better place was best served by continuing my education. This led me to the Echo Program at Notre Dame. The cliché about making the world a better place is spoken by many, but acted upon by few - I like to think I am one of the few. My unique opportunities, including an internship with Caritas Internationalis at the UN, studying in Bologna, Italy, an internship at the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace in Rome, working in the Office of University Relations at the University of Notre Dame, and as a theology teacher at St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas, have prepared me for a career in the nonprofit and nongovernmental sector or with the Catholic Church. My passions lie in promoting education in third world countries (especially among girls), helping those most in need, advocating for the impressive successes of the Catholic Church, and raising awareness about issue that affect the human race, particularly education, hunger, and water. I am open to a variety of roles within the nonprofit, education, and Church sectors - especially diversity, equity, and inclusion, fundraising and development, writing, advocacy, education, mission integration, environment, sustainability, and governance, and management and organization.
