About Sara di Renzo

I am a plant biotechnologist who wants to contribute to the fight against climate change and to environmental protection. My goal has led me to participate in the Fellowship of Teach for Italy, a non-profit organisation dedicated to fighting educational poverty, and to bring children* and teenagers* closer to mathematics and science as a disseminator and as a teacher. I believe that the realisation of a sustainable, fair and inclusive future for all cannot disregard the formation of competent and citizens, whatever their economic and social status. At the end of this experience, I felt the need to contribute to the ecological transition through a more practical and direct occupation: I thus began a PhD at La Sapienza in Rome, in the laboratory of Prof. De Lorenzo and Prof. Pontiggia, dedicating myself to the study of the role of oligogalacturonides in plant immunity. At the same time, I joined Teach for Italy's Climate Change Education & Leadership project team, with the aim of stimulating student leadership in the fight against climate change.
