About Sara Gallagher

Since 2014, I have worked with small companies, nonprofits, and individual clients, to help them develop a brand voice through a strong written narrative paired with compelling visual storytelling. Impassioned by the arts, helping individuals with mental health challenges, and working with people with disabilities, I have had the pleasure of partnering with numerous organizations and individuals focused on these particular essential services. With a background in visual art, brand development, and volunteer management, I bring a strong sense of creative problem solving and compassionate leadership to a team, addressing each project with ingenuity, precise attention to detail, and an easy-going attitude. Currently I serve as the Development & Communications Manager at Halleck Creek Ranch, a nonprofit that has been helping individuals with disabilities break barriers through therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted services since 1977. I manage and help further agency communications and grants, with a concentration on marketing, foundation grants, and individual giving campaigns. Being a self-starter who also enjoys collaboration within a team, working closely with the Executive Director and our small team of staff at Halleck Creek Ranch brings great fulfillment to my days. In addition to this work, I am an artist who utilizes the visual arts to bring forth individual’s stories of mental health challenges and breakthroughs. This work is aimed to achieve greater emotional intimacy within individuals and broader communities by providing an opportunity for solidarity in our otherwise private emotions, slowly breaking taboos about mental health here in the United States.
