About Sara Gomes

I am now one of the Heads of the Audiovisual Department at WL Partners Innovation. With a degree in Communication Sciences, I have more than 20 years of work experience producing content for various television, radio, press and online projects, both in Portugal and abroad. Recently, I was involved in the lauching of CNN Portugal. Before that, I joined BBC World Service team in London. I was also the news correspondent for the weekly paper Expresso in London. I also have a vast experience in research and content production for television documentary series, such as: “Principes do Nada”, presented by UNFPA ambassador Catarina Furtado, about the work of various NGOs around the world; “Dar Vida Sem Morrer”, about maternal and child mortality, filmed in Guinea-Bissau; and, more recently, “Planeta A”, a project by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation on sustainability, directed by Jorge Pelicano, for RTP1. For cinema, I signed the content direction of “TONY”, the most watched Portuguese documentary ever in national cinemas. I am now developing a fiction series about Cape Verdean immigration to Portugal in the 70s/80s, distinguished in an ICA (Cinema and Audiovisual Institute) competition. Born in Portugal in 1981, I began my professional career at the newspaper PÚBLICO.
