About Sara Hoga

The moment I got my National Insurance Number, I went looking for a job not because I really needed money but because I knew the importance of having work experience as that what we were taught at secondary school and I had done 2 weeks work experience during my time there. Since leaving I first worked in sales as a 16-17 year old that was definitely a difficult start but I did enjoy my time there. Aided me in being more confident talking to a big group and working with different people that I may not come across. I believe my love for owning a business grow there. I shortly joined the healthcare sector, I was in that sector for maybe 5-6 years. At start I was taken back at the level that some clients depending on me for. My responsibilities included personal care (bathing, brushing teeth and pad change), giving medication to the correct client and at the correct time, preparing food that has good nutritional value for the client. Some of my client fully depended on me to have a good quality of life regardless of their health problems, at times I may have been the only person they have spoke to all day. It is a job that has big responsibilities however it is a rewarding job, definitely taught me how quickly life can change and value life more and loved ones. But has helped me to be a responsible, trustworthy person and to put my clients needs before my own ensuing that people in my care are treat with respect and cared for correctly. I have achieved a lot that I am proud of one being graduating in Biology and working in a field that I am proud to be in. Seeing my hard work pay off is definitely something I am proud of. Throughout my time I dedicated my free time in the Afro-Caribbean Society (ACS), I worked alongside the Equality and Diversity Manger and Vice Chancellor of the University to bridge the gap between the BAME community. Had the honour of being mentored by the Vice Chancellor in my last year. I am extremely proud that the University wants and is making a change in society. I am proud that I was part of the change. During Covid I was able to also get Certificates of Achievement in Digital Skills: Social Media, which has aided me to becoming a CMO/ Marketing Director to an upcoming life coaching company (iInspire). It has also given me skills to develop and start my brand Dots. I have done many things in my life and have many more things to come, however my biggest achievement in life is being the strong, bold, business minded and courageous young lady that I am today.
