About Sara Lukasiewicz

Utilizing my experience in management and hospitality I pivoted into the retail world of cheese. While attending The Culinary Institute of America, I knew that if I ever stopped cooking I would want to continue working with food and becoming a cheesemonger would always be an option. My passion for promoting small producers lead me to a position at a local Murray’s cheese shop. After a year in this role I became the Murray’s Cheese Specialist for Roundy’s Wisconsin. Currently I am the Lead Murray's Cheese Specialist overseeing 4 divisions within Kroger-Roundy's, Mariano's, Michigan and Central. As a chef in the Hudson Valley region of New York, I developed a strong working relationship with local farmers and producers. This experience drove me to promote my local community through food and the experience of dinning. I have extensive knowledge of charcuterie, butchery of whole animals and the utilization of whole animals in a cost effective manner in a restaurant setting. In 2012 I was nominated for The James Beard Awards Rising Star Chef.
