About Sara M.

Originally from Bologna (Italy), I relocated in Japan since April 2013 and I had few working experience in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo for both Japanese and Foreign Companies. These experience helped me with the understanding not only of the Japanese working culture, but also a more international working culture. In September 2015 I finally found my way into the travel industry and I started working for a DCM, first in the Kyoto branch and after in the headquarter in Tokyo. In this period I had experience working with both Groups and FIT and my carrier quickly developed from Travel consultant to Team Leader and now I am managing of one of the biggest account in UK. Since university I always had a deep interest in Japanese history, culture and tradition and this was proven when I graduated with an excellent academic record in 2007 at the University of Bologna. During this period I also had the opportunity to participate to the Asian Studies Program organized by Kansai Gaidai University in Hirakata-shi (Osaka-fu), where I lived for one year. During my previous job in Osaka, I attended also an evening school for business Japanese because my aim was to find a job that would enable me to develop skills in different fields. My knowledge of foreign languages is helpful on both personal and professional level: beside Italian (my native tongue), I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I also use everyday Business Japanese at work and I have an upper-intermediate level certification for Japanese (JLPT N2) When I look for a job, my aim is to join an international company that promotes professional development, interpersonal and multicultural relations and where I can use and deepen my knowledge and international experience. Further, I look forward to obtain a job which can provide me with a warm working environment, and also helps me to develop myself not only as a person but also as a professional.
