About Sara Maher

I am an experienced Registered Nurse with a demonstrated history of providing quality patient care. My experience consists of 11 years of bedside nursing in the ICU setting and another 15 years of Cardiology nursing both at the bedside and in an ambulatory clinic setting. As part of a Magnet Hospital, I have achieved my Clinical Ladder designation which reflects my expertise and skill in nursing. I am both an experienced mentor and preceptor to on boarding nurses new to the facility. My participation in shared governance is evidenced by my membership in our Unit Based Council. As part of the Nursing Informatics Council, I have the opportunity to collaborate with my colleagues in order to make improvements to our current Electronic Health Record. I have certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and am Board certified in Cardiovascular Nursing (CVRN-BC). My experience in Critical Care nursing, Cardiology Clinic nursing and Medical-Surgical/Trauma nursing makes me a strong candidate for inpatient and ambulatory care. I have obtained a Bachelor of Science focused in Registered Nursing from Western Governors University. I am proficient with Electronic Health records including the following: Cerner,Meditech, Allscripts as well as some experience with EPIC software. I was recently awarded Employee of the Unit for 1C (2019) and was a nominee for the Daisy Award - a recognition awarded for clinical skill and compassionate nursing provided to patients and families. In my most recent peer review, my nursing colleagues praised me for my expertise as an educational resource for the unit. I am excited to continue my career in Madison, Wisconsin.
