About Sara Mitchell

Hello! My name is Sara and I recently graduated from George Washington University with a degree in human services and social justice! I am also proud to be a part of the Global Bachelor's Program at GW. This program has allowed me to widen my worldview because I had the opportunity to study abroad on multiple continents during my undergraduate degree. In Fall 2022, I studied abroad at Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and I was able to learn from first-hand perspectives about the conflicts the country has faced in recent decades. I also completed two terms at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia! While in Australia, I met some of my dearest friends and had the opportunity to develop my own small community across the world. Throughout my four years at GW, I have enjoyed learning all about advocacy work at Jews United for Justice, Miriam's Kitchen, 826 DC, FRESHFARM FoodPrints, and Dupont Circle Village while in DC. Through the service learning component of the human services and social justice program, I have found a passion for grassroots, mission-driven organizations, and I am excited to fully immerse myself in that field after graduation. In August, I began my role as Primary Prevention Specialist at Samaritan House in Virginia Beach, and I cannot wait to contribute to the mission here!
