About Sara Moore

Sara Moore is the COO at the University of Alberta Innovation Fund; a Philanthropic VC Fund aimed at scaling and supporting startups around the Alberta ecosystem in AI, Health, Energy and Agriculture. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and Physics. Since March 2022, she has held 1:1s with faculty members, performed internal and external ecosystem scans, and assisted with tasks required to set up the fund while reporting to the funds CEO Sheetal Walsh. She interned at the Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Innovation. In 2023, she created the Student Involvement Initiative within the Innovation Fund, which allowed students from all disciplines at the University to get closer access to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She has led this team to provide the Innovation Fund with the appropriate baseline processes needed for the UAIF to be successful. Student Involvement has now been able to support and provide experience to 20+ students at the U of A and from other Canadian Institutions. In addition, Sara is a member of the Canadian Senior National Team in Trampoline and Tumbling Gymnastics, specifically named to the Women's Tumbling Team. Having represented Canada since 2021, she is experienced in dealing with pressure and timelines during heavy competition seasons.
