About Sara Ross
Dr. Sara Ross is the John A. Yogis, Q.C. & Donald P. Keddy Chair in Human Rights Law at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University. In addition, she is an Associate Professor of Law, the Director of the Marine and Environmental Law Program, and Associate Director of the Marine and Environmental Law Institute, all at Dalhousie. Dr. Ross also serves as the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Legal Education Annual Review. In 2021, she was named one of Canada's "Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers" by Canadian Lawyer magazine, in 2023 she served as the Acting Associate Dean (Research) at Schulich, and in 2024 she was a finalist for the Female Trailblazer of the Year at the Canadian Law Awards. Her book "Law and Intangible Cultural Heritage in the City" was published by Routledge in 2019 and she was the co-editor of the book "Private International Law in Common Law Canada: Cases, Text and Materials, 5th Edition" published by Emond Publishing in 2022. Her next book is forthcoming from Cambridge University Press in 2026.
