About Sara Schlesinger

I received my B.S. from Lock Haven University in 2013 with a dual major in Ecology and Marine Biology, and a minor in Environmental Studies. As a member of my college SCUBA Club I became Open Water Certified in 2011. Throughout my college career I became proficient in the laboratory setting, research, data collection, Microsoft Office and writing reports. During my final semester as an undergraduate I worked with US Fish & Wildlife Services. A majority of the work that I preformed consisted of stream bank stabilization and habitat restoration for protected species. Working on these projects often included GIS analysis, site evaluations, PNDI reports, soil surveys, report writing, communication with landowners, and collaboration with partners from other organizations. I worked with Dr. Seiler my senior year as well, where I was responsible for tasks such as water quality sampling, macroinvertebrate surveying, and electrofishing trout streams. I used the data that we collected to analyze the quality of trout habitat available in the streams. After graduation I worked at Croda Inc, where I ran tests on products, analyzed data, and led morning meetings to inform co-workers and managers about current projects. I further developed my organizational and problem solving skills in that professional laboratory environment.
