The initiative for the development of Plant Based Standard is based on the increased demand for plant-based foods. Uniform labeling for plant-based foods is a response to a growing need from both consumers and the food industry. The purpose of Plant Based Standard is among other things, to meet consumers expectations of controlled plant-based foods, while at the same time giving food producers, restaurants, cafés, grocery stores and hotels an opportunity to show their range of these foods and that they meet the standard requirements. The standard has been developed in Sweden together with several leading certification bodies in the food sector. The standard requirements are available to read and download free on our website
